Tell me the draw isn’t rigged without telling me it is

#ARSLIV
#SUNNEW

And Us, away at a lower division club.

Sigh
Also, bit odd that Leeds, Ipswich and Millwall were drawn in consecutive ties - numbers 18, 19 and 20.

Nice goal by Eastleigh v Reading. Impressed by the way the goalscorer kept looking to ensure he was onside, in much the same way that Bamford doesn't.

Enjoyable game between Eastleigh and Reading. Quite hard to tell which was the League 1 team until the final 15 minutes when Eastleigh tired but after Reading equalised with 4 minutes to go, Eastleigh won in added time. Easleigh, who are 7 points and 8 places above York looked far better than the latter judged by their performance against Wigan on Friday.

The first one is even, you either are at home or you are not so I believe the actual odds are

2^12 to 1

The first is 50:50, so 1/2, the 2nd is the same individually so 1/2 * 1/2 = 1/4 (or 1 in 4)... etc. So 2^13 ?

yeah, has to be 8k to 1.

Bet the bookies won’t offer 16k to 1 for next year.

Evens mate. 1/1. But bookies being bookies it'll be 19/20 so they can make their profit.

Yeah, alright, very much meant it's 50:50, I'd never make it as a bookie  .

Yes you're right. I Screwed up thinking about the even bet as just 1 rather than your stake also going forward onto the other bets

It's 1 + 1 (first part of accumalator), 2 + 2 (second part of accumalator) 4+4, 8+8, 16+16, 32+32, 64+64, 128+128, 256+256, 512+512, 1024+1024, 2048+2048

and finally 4096+4096 (thirteenth part of accumalator). So for your £1 you'd win £8,191.

But as someone has pointed out you aren't getting true odds from a bookie. A reason I know it's really dumb to do parlays etc but wheres the excitement of just picking the winner only :)

when doing back-of-the-envelope calculations i'd tend to assume a bookies' profit margin of 5-10% per bet. but neither better nor worse than that is particularly uncommon.

It's simple really: The chances of being drawn away 13x in a row is inexplicably small and has never happend in 151 years of competition history. We're just debating how small.

You'd think we could be awarded a cup.

Yes, the F.A. Cup - as in 'Falling Apart'.

Probably on Vargoals
