Optimus Primes v Sherriff Woody's Toys CK

Postby Matt White » Sat Nov 30, 2019 9:55 am

Have I missed something? Saturday morning and no Cyberkop?

Anyway, Woody v MB. I've crowbarred some bollocks about Toy Story into the title but anyway, we've got this haven't we? I predict a rout.

You got to pump it up, don't you know, going up.

Last season when Pulis arrived with a team of 8 foot tall players including Ayala and Flint and a single tactic of lumping the ball into the penalty area from corners and long throw ins against our central pairing of Cooper and Beradi, it seemed certain that they would nick a last minute goal and put an end to the magic of Bielsaball. This year the Smoggies are turning up in terrible form, with a long injury list and an ex-Leeds player as manager. What can go wrong?

2-0

Think it might a scrappy game, similar to Reading. Happy to see Randolph unavailable for them though.

Yeah, rate him, they are weaker without him.

Just in case anybody didn't see this on the other [Championship] thread - I think these are Woodgate quotes on Boro's long injury list:

"We know Rudy [Gestede], Marcus [Browne] and Ryan [Shotton] are out, and Darren Randolph will be out as well.
Anfernee Dijksteel is out; he needs a knee operation and will be out for four weeks.
Britt [Assombalonga] is 50/50 with an ankle injury, and won’t train today so I’ll have to see how he is. Paddy McNair is doubtful.
Marvin Johnson has another two games.”
No George Friend either."
But Saville is back.

Current mood: assuming the best we’ll manage is the odd goal from 80% possession or some such. Nagging doubts about the 0-1 / 1-2 loss, as always. We’re overdue a disappointing draw.

Well, and a 4-0 destruction, but I can’t sum up that kind of positivity ATM

Good news on Friend being out, he alway seems to play well against us. Maybe he's just a good player, I've only watched him playing Leeds :)

Seen that photo on Twatbook? Has Marcelo made them walk to the ground from the hotel?

They’re on their knees so I fully expect them to park the bus. Have we got enough left in the tank for another one goal victory this week though? I suspect that it will be a thankless slog but we’ll sneak one by at some point. So many players due a goal - Bamford, Klich, Pablo, Dallas, Alioski etc.

From what bits I've seen on TV of Boro, they look like a team who will collapse if you get an early goal or two.

Most amusing. That should be on the 'Shite Jokes' thread, surely?

Kept hearing how depleted Boro are but their starting XI looks to me like the sort of side you’d expect to finish in the top six. Let’s hope that the win during the week hasn’t given them their mojo back. Assuming they ever had it.
