Olthwaite's make me rich crowdsourced Prem game

Postby Still Hates Gordon Watson » Tue Dec 03, 2019 5:40 pm

I wondered what had happened to this. What happens if neither win?

Cunt actually won £670; there must have been late entries.

We go again. I need to pick by 9am Sat:

Everton v Chelsea
Tottenham v Burnley
Watford v Palace
Bournemouth v Liverpool
Man City v Man Utd
Newcastle v Southampton
Norwich v Sheff Utd
Villa v Leicester
Brighton v Wolves
West Ham v Arsenal

Looks quite a tricky week to me.

Spurs.

Chelsea should beat Everton but who knows what'll happen with a caretaker manager in his first game.
Watford also between managers, play better than their results suggest and are at home but Palace have found some form and are 7th. I'd go Palace but not confidently.
Liverpool haven't lost for almost a season so backing against them is stupid, should be nailed on but the've not kept a clean sheet and had some narrow away wins.
Manchester Derby, I'd go City, obviously but feels like anything could happen.
Newcastle have just won a couple, are they good enough to win 3 in a row? Fuck knows but Southampton are shit.
Norwich v Sheff Utd - If pushed I'd say Sheff Utd but can't call this.
Leicester are flying, they should win at Villa.
Brighton v Wolves, fuck knows, Wolves are 5th FFS, how did that happen?
West Ham v Arsenal - Arsenal are garbage right now but West Ham aren't great either. Also, as a rule, I'd avoid the Monday game, knowing who you should have picked before kick off.

I’d go Newcastle-Southampton, but not confidently.

Agree with Eric that not a vintage week. Phil's comments all look sensible enough. I think I prefer Liverpool slightly, though - they're a better team, with an away record that's comfortably better than Spurs' home record, and Bournemouth are bollocks. plus they (Liverpool) rested players in their last game, so should be fresher than spurs (or Bournemouth).

Cheers.

Looking at the form table I guess I’d question whether Leicester can really continue a 100% run.

Do I spunk Cess on the first round? Not sure.

Can Toon win three on the bounce? Hmm.

I went Spurs and Cess.

My lad, who has joined in this time, went Norwich

I see Everton dispatched Chelsea easily enough, would have been a massive gamble in week 1 though. So far so good for Spurs.

Pretty happy with me assessment now.
Chelsea fucked up. Watford/Palace drew, City were shit, Newcastle did win but had to come from behind, Sheff Utd the same, Brighton currently beating Wolves with 2 quick goals, more goals in that one I think.

Liverpool won more comfortably than I expected.

As it goes he had a last minute panic attack and changed to Leicester so we’re good.

I think maybe 20 have gone from 140, mainly Citeh and Chelscum.

Liverpool v Watford - as close to 100% Liverpool as you can get
Burnley v Newcastle - hmmm. Toon in better form and improving, but not sure about away?
Chelsea v Bournemouth - Chelscum lost 3 in 6 but Bournemouth are terrible lately. Shouldn't be a contest
Sheff Utd v Villa - 65% Blunts?
Leicester v Norwich - Leicester's run has to end, but surely not here.
Southampton v West Ham - garbage all round, can't call it
Man Utd v Everton - about 75% Scum, I guess
Wolves v Tottenham - can't call it
Arsenal v Man City - really ought to be Citeh but they are on a wobble
Palace v Brighton - set of cunts' pretend derby. Anything could happen

Not easy this is it?

I'd go Palace* and either Liverpool or City. City will be keen to bounce back and Arsenal are pretty shit. Liverpool seem likely to remain a safe bet so would be good to keep them in reserve as long as possible.

*Then again, this is the Monday game I said the other day I'd actively avoid as a rule.

Looking ahead, I'd maybe be taking Villa and scum for the following weekend, Chelsea on boxing day and Brighton on the 28th (or Liverpool on the 29th).

Precisely the kind of game I can see Norwich winning.
