Another step to Wembley? Pne ck

Postby Mr Reality » Tue Aug 28, 2018 9:58 am

Will be interesting to see the team picked tonight.

Expect Blackman, Shackleton, Pearce, Baker, Harrison, Roberts and Bamford to start.

Given we are playing Boro in Friday I wouldn't want any of the current first choice XI to start. We are risking fatigue if not and fatigued players are either shit or injury prone.

Yep, wholesale changes probably, but squad is still too thin to really do a full switcharoo.

Blackman
Shackleton, Jansson, Ayling, Pearce
Baker, Harrison, Klich(?)
Roberts, Bamford, (?)

Cocky fucker. We're not even going to bother with an eleventh player so we can rest as many as possible.

Personally I would rest ayling too. And shaughnessy just in case.

I'd like to see a couple of the under 23s get some gametime, second half maybe if we're doing ok.

Hey, my comma after Bamford showed there was a player I couldn't even think of a good replacement for.

Yeah maybe Shaughnessy for Ayling, would have liked to see Ousmin Buoy play just because of his name but he's been farmed off now. Maybe Anita/Kane/Ekuban could feature but Bielsa's made it pretty clear he's not interested in teaching them how to play his way, so could be some surprises from the reserves.

Blackman
Shackleton Jannson Shaughnessy Pearce
Phillips or Klich
Roberts or Harrison Baker Saiz Clarke
Bamford

Saiz or replaced by Phillips or Klich (whichever gets rested) by 60 minutes.

Perhaps Ayling to come on for Phillips/Klich with Shackleton moving into the middle. Either way, no first XI player should be playing a full match.

Team v Bolton was
Blackman, Shackleton, Ayling, Jansson, Philips, Pearce, Harrison, Saiz (Alioski 68), Baker, Roberts (Klich 68), Bamford (Roofe 80). Subs not used: Huffer, De Bock, Berardi, Shaughnessy.

Expect the same squad with Dallas to come in.
De Bock Gone.
Duffer played last night expect BPF on the bench
Siaz/Pontus /Ayling/ Roofe/ Philips should be rested on the bench imho not risked before Friday, Pontus is fine but Mad B@sterd has a name to live up to.

Not sure if Anita is still around, if yes, good opportunity to get him the shop window
O'Kane - not sure you want him the window, keep the groomers who expressed interest optimistically guessing
Ekuban assume wont feature @PhilHayYEP Caleb Ekuban looking like the next departure from Leeds. A few foreign options for him but Turkish club Trabzonspor have lined up a season-long loan. #lufc

Need to rest Ayling. Only players I'd have from the first team are Pontus and Berardi - because getting them to play together and work as a double act is important, and Pontus hasn't had many 90s anyway.
So:

Blackman
Dallas Pontus Berardi Pearce
Shaughnessy
Roberts Shackleton Baker Harrison
Bamford

Or thereabouts.

Edmondson scored and it ended 1-1, would have put something on the thread you started but the title was the most boring one on here for months :salute:
