Pitiful 52. Spent a long time typing in folk who were just outside of either end. I would have sworn blind that John McClelland* had a couple of a outings in our first season up.

*and I wasted about five attempts at spelling his name right.

64 but missed some obvious ones too. Spent way too long trying to remember the Scotish striker we picked up for very little and ultimately did nowt that I missed out 2 more obvious English ones. I also managed to conflate 2 scape-goat left backs and only got 1 of the useless bastards (and completely forgot another one existed on TFP's list above).

I seem to have a blind spot for mid-90s defenders (5 of the bastards in the middle column), late 90s forwards (4 of the first 6 from the final column) and those few games where GG played a load of lesser youth team players for a bit.

That said, I did get 3 accidentally through thinking of someone different due to shared/similar surnames (in 1 case with a pre-EPL player, in another because its 1 letter short of what I was going for) - I may have got them anyway, who knows, they were early in the 20 minutes.

I'd have been happy with about 5 more.

I missed DOL, JFH and even Woody. Others were ones like Bowman, Tinkler. Somehow I missed the defensive colossus that was Paul Beesley

Saw most of the Sheff U v Man U match yesterday. Just wanted to say what a pleasure it was to see Chris Wilder's team get at them and really take 'em on. I guess they were aided by the uncertain state of Man U at the moment, but [especially first half] they played very well, and largely with the same players they had last season. The transformation in McGoldrick is incredible. At Ipswich he was almost dead on his feet: his legs looked well gone, leaving only his guile. Now he runs around like he's discovered a youth drug.
Man U did spark into life mid-second half, mind, but Sheff stuck with it to get the equaliser.
Good game. Gives us hope for what can be done, should we also go up.

Personal integrity, yeah? Gotcha.
You know, I'm sick of following my dreams, man. I'm just going to ask where they're going and hook up with 'em later.

Even if it’s scum I am, I admit, a little amused to see the special one get fucked over on his return.

And maybe having 3 scorers is a good sign that eddie does not need to be recalled.

was chatting to an occasional geordie on thursday night who claimed to have been given a free season ticket at newcastle, in an attempt to get some more people through the turnstiles.

The way things are going I’m feeling very blasé about the Eddie thing.
reserve the right to say ‘i told ya so’ when Pat gets injured on the match after the window slams shut

Yep, they’ve offered a free half season ticket to all existing ticket holders to try put bums on seats.

That must be boiling the piss off those who've paid for their season tickets.
