I am still very confused why the 49ers have part of the club. Not sure what that get out of it? If they wanted to make a thing of it you'd expect they'd have tried to take us over as we'd be a more expensive buy in the PL. There is no evidence of anything commercial like playing an NFL game at Elland Road. Their presence is for me baffling

Could just be a cold, reasoned investment? If QSI (or whoever) do buy out their shares you’d think they’d make a decent profit.

Looks like a strategic investment doesn't it? If this is correct they have only invested in three projects. Buy into a project with the option to increase their holding, with the goal of getting a foothold in the EPL. After the NFL/MLB there cannot be many better investment opportunities in sport.

Radz needed 11 million quid off the 49ers because the shit was hitting the fan on some of his business ventures at the time.

We were lucky they got on board when they did to help keep us afloat during those stormy seas.
Rightly or wrongly I took it at that particular time that Radz at the helm was out of his depth here.

In fact not a lot has happened since to make me change my mind.
If Bielsa leaves and there will be no takeover prepare to see Phillips be the first of many to leave the ship.

We all know Bielsa was Radz last roll of the dice and if it fails there will be consequences UNLESS a owner like QSI has realised the potential of the club during the last couple of seasons, and they decide to take a punt. If we get promoted it would not surprise me at all to see the 49ers take control of the club, if we don't then all bets are off.

I fully agree with all of that.

I also don't think that QSI and the 49ers could work together, it would have to be one or the other.
I don't really care which one.

Radz has had his fun, he's put his name firmly onto the map of world sport. I'm ready to drive him to his next destination as soon as possible though. I've even bought a tin of hard boiled sweets for him and Victor to share on the journey.

We are into June already, I hope the wheels are in motion for a takeover. We have to start preparing for next season soon.

Incredible’ – Exclusive: Pundit reacts to latest QSI-Leeds news after comments from Whites CEO

We’re delighted to welcome former England goalkeeper Paul Robinson as our exclusive columnist. Each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Leeds United…

Paul Robinson has said that the experience in both business and football on a global level that QSI would bring to Leeds is “incredible”.

He also said investment from QSI would lead to an “absolutely fantastic partnership” with the club after Leeds said they’re looking for more than just money from investors.

Investment from QSI has been talked about directly by owner Andrea Radrizzani, who said it could propel Leeds into the upper echelons of spending in the Premier League.

More recently, rumours spread around the internet that a deal had been agreed with QSI.

Leeds CEO Angus Kinnear said just this week that Leeds would actively welcome investment that goes beyond just money – something the QSI group would definitely bring, according to Robinson.

Talking exclusively to MOT Leeds News, “I think Andrea Radrizzani will want to be involved at Leeds for the foreseeable future, he’s a big part of what’s going on.

“He bought the stadium, he’s been integrated into the community, he’s been taken into their hearts and I think he’s the best owner Leeds have had for a number of years.

“So many owners have come in and said they’d buy the stadium, the first thing Radrizzani did was buy the stadium. He’s done what he said he was going to do and that’s why the fans have taken to him.

“I think he’s got to the point where he just needs some more investment to get the club to where he wants it to go.

“As a business, it’s grown on and off the field from where it was five or six years ago, and from 10 years ago it’s unrecognisable.

“I think it would be a good business opportunity for him to get some more money to go alongside his vision.

“If it is QSI then you get more experience. The background and knowledge of business and football from QSI is incredible and it would be an absolutely fantastic partnership if it happened.”

We think that a deal will be struck after Leeds get into the Premier League and if we were betting men we’d say that investment from QSI is the most likely source.

However, we’re not expecting a full takeover but partial investment to go alongside the San Francisco 49ers, leaving Radrizzani at the helm. We’d be very happy with that.

I'm wary of the York family (49ers) having any majority involvement. Yeah, the 49ers are at the top of their game right now, but the NFL structure is completely different from the Premier League, even mediocre ownership will have a good year or two because of the salary cap and enforced parity.

I'm not sure they're cut out for true Premier League contention and the requisite spending needed to pull it off. I think it would go the way of the Lerner's and Aston Villa. QSI gives me the willies for different reasons, but I think they understand the deep pockets you must have to reach the top.

Maybe they had some sort of pre-existing option agreement? Anyway, wrong thread.

I've noticed, over recent years, an increase in Pepes (Pepi?) in football circles and before I get right excited can I just be sure on your Pep reference? :study:

So during lockdown we got one of those circular pizza trays that ...ahem, give you a crispy bottom. Our local deli was doing bread flour and fresh yeast. With a little practice we made some cracking pizza, and the best thing was we normally had enough dough left to craft some artisan bread buns. More beautiful toast you’ve never tasted, especially with a good smothering of Danechurn spreadable butter from Waitrose.

Tiger bread can fuck off

YEP reported they had increased their share to 13%, in accordance with the original contract I guess. Their increased involvement can only be good news as far as I'm concerned. As everyone says their expertise can only benefit our club if we want to compete with the top clubs in Europe.

Nfl media rights are just under $40bn. (16 games + playoffs)

EPL media rights are $12bn

From an investment point of view I suspect the 49ers think there is a lot of headroom for the rights to grow and therefore the value of any EPL club to grow with it.

Add on sponsorships, ad revenue etc and it makes sense.

It may also allow Radz to get them involved with Eleven Sports and bid for some games

Don't forget Levis Stadium. Opened 2014 and cost 1.2 billion dollars, resulting in their revenue increasing 69%. They will certainly have an opinion about ER.
