I gather that the Canadan keeper is Croatian. Classic opportunity here . . .

Croatia goal rightly ruled out for offside and Keown says, "That's a let-off'.
No, Martin, them's just the rules.

Equaliser has been coming. Would like to see the offside on VAR, though.

Re: Qatar 2022 kill the slave labour World Cup
I've spent this half time explaining to Mrs WW the foul throw rules.
I've used a spare extention lead as a touchline in the middle of the room and a cushion as a ball.
After about 7 minutes coaching and practice she can now take a perfect throw-in.
We're both loving this WC

The amount of dull games, underperforming top nations and shocks so far it would not be a surprise to see a new winner of the WC like Greece did in the euros.

which wife is this one now welsh? is this why the others moved on, because they couldn't take a proper throw?
increasing doubt, decreasing hope, even my imaginary friend went and changed his mind.

Is part of the reason for the above, the age of some of the strikers, who no longer carry the same threat - Ronaldo, Neymar, Messi, Suarez, Lukaku, (Bale)? That's one of the reasons I still fancy France (plus of course Quiffy having invested £4)

I've learnt over the years (and many divorces) that couples that do things together stay together.Quiffy wrote: ↑Sun Nov 27, 2022 5:49 pmwelshwhite wrote: ↑Sun Nov 27, 2022 5:02 pmI've spent this half time explaining to Mrs WW the foul throw rules.

I'm looking forward to the half time of the Spain v Germany game to show her the difference between a tackle from behind compared to a tackle from the side.
I'll have to put the Dog out the back for that fucker, he's very protective towards her.

Re: Qatar 2022 kill the slave labour World Cup
yeah, I mean, it's quite a common thing for stars of previous world cup(s) to underwhelm, e.g. at the first one I was old enough to watch, 1986, there was a lot of pre-tournament hype about a possible encore by the ageing big stars of '82 (mostly Brazil, eg zico, Socrates, falcao, but also eg rummenigge, Rossi, & so on), which mostly amounted to nothing - but the 'new guard' stepped up, I daresay something a little bit similar is happening here.Bobbycollins wrote: ↑Sun Nov 27, 2022 6:07 pmIs part of the reason for the above, the age of some of the strikers, who no longer carry the same threat - Ronaldo, Neymar, Messi, Suarez, Lukaku, (Bale)? Happy for Morocco. Always rooted for them in the World Cup for some reason.

Another offside 'goal' ruled out is called a 'let-off'.

Iran demanding the USA team be thrown out of the WC and banned for ten games after they removed the Islamic Republic emblem from the Iranian flag in social media posts as a sign of solidarity with protests.
Be an interesting match that one, especially with the Iranian team also showing support for protests
