I’ve never questioned Bielsa, so I hope there’s something slightly tweaked from our normal formation but why on earth wouldn’t you leave white in at centre back to retain some semblance of stability with your captain out?

I think he’s thinking where the key impact is and which bit of the field you’d control first. Is it worse to have a better back line getting battered because you’re not controlling MF?

I could have accepted that argument if the defence was otherwise unchanged, but as we are without Cooper, we are relying on 2 full backs to organise/play the centre back area. We can’t know but You’d expect that this would make us immeasurably weaker

The issue is that we do not honestly know how good White will be in defensive midfield, might be good, might not, but what we do know is that he’s the best centre back in the league. Why not leave him there. From centre back he can also see the game ahead and help whoever took over KPs spot. It just feels unnecessary.

Berardi has played at cb since Bielsa arrived, Ayling has played at cb a lot in his career, White will fall back and help our when needed. Not ideal but Bielsa is making the best he can of the situation with Coops, Phillips, Shacks and Forshaw out.

Only other home team on the accumulator with similar odds are Bournemouth against Liverpool. I struggle to see Bournemouth winning but I have no issue seeing Huddersfield turning us over 1-0

You might want to reconsider that comment before the game starts

Meslier regularly misses out because of the maximum loan rule now that Clarke tends to make the bench again.

As suspected, we’re not playing any particular formation in that area around our defence

That ball through to Harrison and the build up to it was delicious, flag Cuntery notwithstanding.

Just me, or does White look a tad out of sorts, like he’s struggling to find his role in this set up?

Yeah out of sorts, and whatever the formation, it's not going to plan at the min.

If we get to half time without them scoring I think we’ll be fine.
