OK, but 24 hours before an away game? Seems mental to me.

They apparently train at match intensity so perhaps it's not all that different (which somewhat negates my original point on necessity).

Yeah, I raised an eyebrow too but we have options for the bench and it seems almost certain we'll be unchanged. Only 1 of Forshaw and Baker needed to get through ok with Shackleton in reserve. Only Dallas or (both) Clarke/Pearce to have wing and full back cover. We didn't have a striker on the bench at Wednesday anyway. Not sure the risks are all that great and, having not watched it, can only assume anyone who played 90 minutes today will not be involved tomorrow at all.

The risk is fairly minimal, the reward may be 1 or 2 better prepared to step in on Saturday.

jack clarke is apparently of sound mind and a decent lad, unlike the lad who went to norwich from the same school, who's a bit of a twat. so my source tells me.
increasing doubt, decreasing hope, even my imaginary friend went and changed his mind.

Going to give the U23’s a spin this afternoon down at ER, might get to see Pablo, Berra and Roofe.

Give us a wave - I'll watch it on the stream. What time's kick-off?

You won’t see me unless I have a dash across the park, everyone is sat in the west stand.

OK, then, a streak it will have to be. Second half is fine - wouldn't want you to miss the match.

Roofe and Berardi playing, so I hear.

Also Shackleton, Forshaw, Baker, Blackman, but not Pablo.

Berra is left wing back!
Roofe right wing!

His header from a corner ended up in the net, possible deflection but it certainly looked like a Berra goal.
Of the first teamers only Roofe looked disinterested, the others put themselves about, it was the sort of performance we saw from Roofe last year - odd, given the boss was looking on.
Shackleton, Diaz and Struijk all looked good.
I was having a chat with the dad of one of Burnley’s subs, poor lad got meningitis at 16 when he was still at Watford, took 2 years out to recover and is now on the books at Burnley.
Good and very competitive game, some meaty tackles going in, Burnley not at all bad.

Ayling playing for U23s at Barnsley this afternoon. Just kicked off.

Losing 0-1 after seven mins and could have been two: Barnsley just missed a pen on 20 mins. The latter came as the result of keeper Huffer giving the ball away in the area, trying to play it out.
More positively - just - Luke is winning free kicks against the callow youths by means of his 'fall over when touched from behind' technique.

Edmondson equalises from a corner on 40 mins. Good header. More difficult than the sitter he missed five mins earlier. Playing decently now.

H-T 1-1. Stevens missed a great chance to put us ahead - good save by keeper after a lovely move down the right. Barnsley could have been 3-0 up early on but should be 2-1 down by now. Entertaining.

2-1 to us now. Close range finish by Dalby, I think.

You can definitely see from the movement how much of an influence Bielsa's style has been on the whole club.

3-1 now. Missed the goal due to a phone call. Edmondson, apparently, for his second.

And now 4-1, Edmondson hat trick. Second half all Leeds.

F-T 4-1. Good lads. Dalby, Stevens looked good. Ayling got through it uninjured [and obviously looked above the level]. Made Barnsley seem stone age.

4-1 to the youth yesterday, with a few 'lovely' finishes.
