Was going to say: see also Mario Götze, winner of more or less everything and free agent at 28, but apparently he's hyper-crocked.

if we're looking for cover in every position then he'd be a natural in the forshaw role.

Welbeck is the only one of the "used to be good" gang I'd even consider, as he played 20 games last season, and I don't think we need him.

Wilshere has only played 19 games in 2 seasons. He is crocked and anyone buying him is buying the memory from 4-5 years ago. He will either go on the celeb TV circuit (strictly, jungle etc) or go abroad to a slower easier league.

strictly speaking i think you mean 9 years ago, that game vs barcelona.

on his twitter he claims to have been, "...fully fit for a large period of time at [west ham]", though i suspect his idea of "fully fit" ['i've got an almost evens chance of lasting till half time if you bring me on in a wheelchair & don't expect me to leave the centre circle'] might be slightly different to Bielsa's.

overall, yeah, look, i don't want to kick a dog when it's down, all of our senses of self-worth are to at least some extent tied in with our ability to find work, i wish him all the best, but, look, a guy who's so well off, still with the ability to do the best job in the world at some level, also by all accounts [i forget where i heard or read this] improbably well endowed, i don't mind a little gentle online ribbing.

He'd have to lose 50% of his body mass before he got anywhere near Bielsa Fit.

Sounds like Bazza D to Blackburn is all but done.

I don’t think he’s any great loss to the quality of the team but there’s definitely a pang of sadness to lose a member of the promotion squad. Hopefully he’ll have a great ending to his career.

i think he's ok. had a couple of very good games for us, in addition to lots that were far less good. needs to be playing every week, and to justify a place at a good level [which i'm not sure blackburn qualifies as], needs to be taking pretty much all of his team's set pieces.

That's very good.

Point of order, m'lud:

You're the first permanent member of our promotion winning side to leave us

What about Bera?

EDIT: Although on that point

Like a new signing etc

you know how we've not picked up a proper midfielder like we hoped? is there any chance of getting james milner in on loan?

he'd be like adam forshaw mk 2.0.
increasing doubt, decreasing hope, even my imaginary friend went and changed his mind.

Agree it's a lovely idea but the only game he's not been subbed on this season was when they played us, seems Klopp still has a use for him.

ahhh. didn't know that, i just saw him not starting much. i was sort of hoping that their acquisition of thiago in the window may relieve them of their need for our james.
