yeah, i don't like that at all.

still, if hypothetically it makes the differnce between going up & not [this season or not], a 20 yr contract wouldn't be excessive.

as i'm sure ridsdale said [regarding CL qualification] after each of his increasingly absurd splashes.

He did have 1.5 years left on his deal with Los Blancos so I suppose it might have been the easiest way for us to finance it within our wage structure? Signing on fee plus a good wage? He's reported to have been on 30K a week in Spain. This signing is a massive statement so it was always going to cost a few quid. A lot cheaper over 4.5 years than Bamford will be over the four years of his contact and could make a much bigger impact given our alternative is BPF. Still, it is a bloody long contract. Things work out we're laughing. If not ...

If he's a success then we'll get a few quid for him if the likes of Burnley come snooping for him with bigger wages.

I've always said long contracts make more sense. Would we be complaining if we offered the same contract to Jack Clarke?

Keep up - We're going up old man, the likes of Burnley & Bournemouth are never going to be able to snoop our players again.

I did, alas, it was not directed at you or anyone on here. There will be plenty saying its too long. I trust the judgment of the club that he'll be a success :thumbl:

I just LOVE the way the Swansea winger James we want to sign had a file on Bielsa's desktop yesterday whilst he was tearing Frank Lampard's Derby a new one, brilliant

Ballague was gushing about Casilla on the recent Phil Hay podcast, said he was one of the top 5 Spanish keepers. :o

Moderate concerns about deciding to sit on the Madrid bench aside, this could be a bloody fantastic signing

It was what the Journo Hay interviewed said though, he took the easy route when he signed for Los Blanco's, could have signed for a top five club but decided to sign for them and sit on the bench. Hopefully he's pissed off with doing nowt and wants to make something of his career.

You don't rate BP-F? Strange that you never mentioned it.
You know, I'm sick of following my dreams, man. I'm just going to ask where they're going and hook up with 'em later.
