He's on Arsenal's books, couple of clubs shown an interest.

Are we the first club to ever implement a ten year plan?

We're even money favourites to win the Championship title in 2028 :thumbl:

Buy cheap. Sell big. A local car dealer did that very thing. Bought a few bangers and tarted them up. He's now got over a thousand quality cars ten years later.

Clubs a shambles.

Why get rid of Marco if the replacements were of this standard?

Who's watching and scouting the players? Stevie Wonder.

back in december when everyone was deciding where we needed to strengthen the most i said we needed a new keeper. the logic being brian clough's when he got shilton, a good keeper provides the foundation and confidence for the rest of the team. psychologically a good keeper behind you makes a big difference. hopefully this bloke's an improvement, but i doubt it, we need someone who's used to the english game so could hit the ground running.

Nope.

Is there a debate that Loners, Marco and Felix are all different shades of 'not very good' ?

.

No debate at all.

Your constant stream of invective against the club and TC gets a bit wearing though, and that's coming from a negative cunt like me. You very rarely seem to consider the context and background that decisions are made against, you just pronounce them shit, and keep pronouncing them shit.

It jars, and there's no light and shade to it, You suggest no degrees of approbation in your thinking and when this club has been to it's absolute lowest ebb in the last few years things are clearly not as bad as you make out now.

It detracts from your points as people just think you're off on one again, and that no amount of contrary evidence would ever alter your views, so what's the point

Here's Arsene Wenger talking about Martinez, when he signed him to a six-year contract in November 2016:

“If you look at him, I personally see all the top qualities that a goalkeeper needs. He has the stature, he has the passion, he has the technical quality, he has the decision-making, he has huge power and he’s not frightened of anything. I remember a game at Anderlecht in the Champions League – it was a decisive game where he saved us. In the League Cup, every time he plays, he does extremely well. I am very happy that he committed because I think he is the future goalkeeper at this club.”

Meanwhile, I thought our own Felix had a very good game against Millwall. What stood out was that when almost every player collapsed to the floor after Millwall scored in the last minute, Wiedwald was going around and dragging them all to their feet, telling them to get the game restarted and go for an equaliser. For someone who is supposed to lack character, he was showing some much needed leadership. Promising signs of improvement.

Martinez was good on FIFA 16 - I got him on loan and kept him - did very well for me in the Prem

Yeah, I think Felix is much better all round player than the other 2 and perfectly good enough in this division. He will however have some hairy moments/lapses in judgement along the way but find me a keeper who doesn't at 2nd division level, especially one who fits the sweeper keeper mould. He's made 1 or 2 glaring mistakes (QPR) but mostly its been a case of "could probably have done better" on goals we've conceded and I reckon you could say that about most keepers on most goals conceded. Don't particularly feel as though the defence don't trust him though fair to say he doesn't inspire confidence in them either.

Yep, meant to pop back here and say the same. If he stops flapping, keeps distributing well enough and has this in his locker on the regular then he's fine for me.

Always liked him.
You know, I'm sick of following my dreams, man. I'm just going to ask where they're going and hook up with 'em later.

Replacing Felix seems a long way from our most important player issue.

Whenever he gets in a fix he reaches into his bag of tricks.
The only thing we knew for sure about Henry Porter was that his name wasn't Henry Porter.

Yep agree at the moment.

But he's still a long way from proven.

Deal done for Tyler Roberts, £2.5m. Not sure if this a really good deal for a young hungry striker or we’ve only bought him because he was cheap?
