Rock’n’Roll Part 2 still makes the hairs on me neck stand up like nothing else, TBH.

Agreed - but why confine that statement to "art?" Artists aren't the only ones who can accomplish great things despite being personally very flawed.

I've never seen anything wrong in acknowledging accomplishments irrespective of personal flaws. I find the modern day trend of politically correct students demanding that Universities tear down statues of historical figures to be particularly infantile.

I found myself humming the tune of Sun Arise t'other day as I was ambling down the road. Had to stop myself and think 'should I really be enjoying that tune?'

You know, I'm sick of following my dreams, man. I'm just going to ask where they're going and hook up with 'em later.

Yeah. I dunno. An acquaintance/friend of a friend plays in her current band, I wouldn't dream of asking about it, nor would he, I don't suppose. In fairness to the guy he never made a secret of the fact that he was a bit of a cunt.

And here’s a pretty great tribute to MES from Brix herself this week:

TBH there was a bit more to it than just the accent...

So she was underage and he couldn't wait to get her?

Nice.

i assume she means under 21, i.e. too young to go into a [US] club - she'd have been 18 or 19 at the time (18 when slates, which she mentions being the first fall stuff she heard) came out.

The great difficulty about this thread is the pressure to:
a) post first
b) come up with a good gag

I suspect that there are dozens out there for this one; just can’t think.

Yeah, it's the way my mate and I play it by text. First up with the news wins the notional points [we don't actually keep score in the same way as nobody actually cares who wins QI, The News Quiz or HIGNFY]. But if you can come back with a funnier reply, it's [again, notionally] taken as a draw.
We also have rules about times when you're allowed/not allowed to text, so we don't have any silliness in the middle of the night or whenever. When there's a big 'un announced on Radio 4 in the morning, we can sometimes be found standing by the eight o'clock pips in order to send off that winning pun.
All very grown up.

Good effort there Eric. I saw he was dead but couldn’t think of a suitable line. Then again I didn’t know about the kiddie porn stuff. Seems like he was a bad ‘un.

The idea that some other Glee actor topped himself a couple of years back is ringing a distant bell. Maybe this is the Final Destination of TV shows!
