Apologies in advance, but if I might slip in a tiny note of dissension?

I liked Jimmy: he was obviously a good chap and a former Leeds manager who should have lifted the Euro Cup. I'm sorry he's died. I also liked the sound of his voice - the piece above nails it in the part about "sepia times". But I didn't think he was a very good expert as a sidekick commentator because he never really said anything insightful about what was going on. He was a bit boring, in short.
And I don't agree that "all aroundis Blue WKD" when it comes to modern commentators and their guest experts. Pat Nevin is very good. A few other players offer interesting analysis from the former pro's angle - not so much Robbie Savage, who is a cunt, but Danny Murphy's alright, for example. I'm thinking radio rather than TV here, of course. As main footie correspondents go that BBC midlands fellah is always very good - Pat Murphy. Mind you, I don't think we'll be hearing anything of a Stuart Hall nature about Jimmy in the near future, so that's definitely one positive.

OK, I'll put on the sackcloth and pop up to Forest Hill beating myself with a lash.

You know, I'm sick of following my dreams, man. I'm just going to ask where they're going and hook up with 'em later.

Soulman Terry Evans has died. He's on this great Ry Cooder track, singing along with Bobby King:

Yeah, but the price'll be emotionally shortened to protect the bookies (cf England at a/the World Cup)

We seem to have missed Patrick Cryne yesterday. Points for a few there.

Ugh, yeah, as a geeky child I remember more than once being intrigued by the cover of one of her books, looked a bit tolkien-ish, but, no, a few pages of reading always drew me to the same conclusion - it was bobbins (to my pre adolescent tastes, at any rate).

Falkholt was killed by a man driving a car on the wrong side of the road whilst on drugs. Surely a manslaughter / misadventure, no?

I did wonder about this. Is the coroner’s official conclusion out there yet?

EDIT: from the Scum last week:

Coroners will now try and determine whether Whitall's drug use caused the crash.

Sorry late to respond. I’ve been knifing my eyes out. Poor old Jessica didn’t die for that fucking awful badge.

If the coroners report is the arbiter of Manslaughter or Misadventure, then yeah. Happy to wait for that.

Not sure it matters?

If it's "misadventure" wouldn't it have to be Miss Falkholt driving on the wrong side of road while high on drugs?

If its manslaughter, isn't the question more one of whether that extends to include death by dangerous driving or any other form of unlawful incident rather than a straight accident. Seems to be fact the other driver was at fault and not in any kind of momentary lapse of judgement/loss of control way.
