So, a year in office for Trump and worth running the ruler over the economic indicators.
Unemployment has fallen, economic growth is up, inflation is subdued, wages are rising. I’m not attributing that to Trump’s economic policies (albeit he has wisely not pursued most of his worst campaign promises). Politcians fortunes are more often shaped by global economic conditions than vice versa.
It does, however, perhaps highlight that the Democrats and international left may be making a mistake getting so fixated on Trump’s personality flaws (already well known before Americans voted for him), state of mind, etc, and focusing too much on inquiries and highly improbable 25th amendment fantasies. They’d be better off focusing on policy agendas to re-connect with American voters - otherwise they’ll be handing Trump a second term on a plate.
There will be no end to the problems afflicting mankind until economists become rulers, or, by some miracle, rulers become economists.
