I know Dean is a villain but I wonder how much of a say he had in Terry and how he feels about it. He seems like a strong character but imagine that cunt at your back after a run of bad results. An upgraded Redfearn with McDermott and it's bound to end in tears.
They still got Ross McCormack?
The only thing we knew for sure about Henry Porter was that his name wasn't Henry Porter.

I guess Dean Smith thought Villa will have better resources long term than Brentford? I dunno though - he’s taking on a right basket case this season and I wouldn’t be at all surprised if he doesn’t last a year.

Anyway, fuck Brentford, too.

It’s a bit like Heckingbottom coming to us (admittedly Smith is a much better appointment)

A part of me feels sorry for Brentford, given the dream they’ve flirted with is almost certainly over now.

A small part, admittedly, but hey ho. There but for the grace, etc.
I like it. What is it?

I can see Heckingbottom going to Brentford.

What as a fucking hot dog vendor? They'd be better off with Hockaday and I'm serious

I'm not sure its the end of their little adventure just yet. They've coped with a lot of their best players leaving in recent seasons, by signing good replacements. If they can do the same with the manager, much like what used to happen at Southampton, then there is no reason for them to start regressing.

Yeah, Brentford should be OK, if they stick to their system and appoint a guy who will continue it. If they make the right choice, they'll just carry on as before, I'd imagine.

Just a shame this move didn't happen a week ago, might have disrupted Brentford ahead of the match.

Seeing John Terry appointed as Assistant Manager was enough for Doug Ellis it seems.

May as well go here:

Eric, you'll be pleased to know there's a guy down my gym who looks even more like the Hock than you. Almost like he's going for a pastiche of the great man. He looks like the Hock hit his thumb with a hammer a few times, or possibly even hit his glans with it, then drew a face on it and landed it a job at a major football club. It's uncanny.

(It's not actually you, is it? Not up here are you?)
You know, I'm sick of following my dreams, man. I'm just going to ask where they're going and hook up with 'em later.

Well I do get about, but the idea I’d be spotted in a gym? Good Lord, no

Didn’t fully understand the analogy TBH. You were saying the Hock was actually a picture of the Hock drawn on the Hock’s helmet?

Or was the face on the hammer?
