Tonight, BBC2, 9pm, The Year In Music.
Claudia Winkleman and Clara Amfo look back at the year's music highlights... including Liam Gallagher...

Funnily enough (in competition withTommy to annoy you) I’ve got tickets to see Liam Gallagher at the Enmore Theatre on the first night of the Sydney test.I expect it’ll be full of Barmy Armies crying in their beer!

My mate was booked to DJ at an afterparty for Liam’s gig in Nottingham on Sunday.
The place decided to close at 8pm. The place had been stormed with fat cunts with stupid haircuts who’d been on all-dayers, and didn’t want a repeat after the gig as well. Proper shock that.

Hmm, well, Thundercat: dude can play, but [1] he can't sing and should stop immediately [2] his songs are too often half-completed ideas [see his most recent album, 'Drunk'] and [3] he's this year's trendy namedrop for a lot of people because they're looking for someone else to claim for their own after Kamasi Washington.

Heh-heh. I meant his album, really. Lots of too-short tracks that just never go anywhere.

Hmmm.... Cheers for that.
The guy's very talented of course, props to him for that.
But it's not my kind of thang.
Bass is not a solo instrument for me, it's to anchor a band. Unless yuou're Jaco Pastrious of course...

Yeah. He's not as wanky and in your face as a Stanley Clarke type though.

He's also done a ton of other 'straight' session stuff for other people. And, bizarrely, he was also in Suicidal Tendencies

There's no noodling in Zappa. It's all written down

Written down noodling is still noodling. You could argue that it's even less impressive when planned than when spontaneous...

And if you don't mind, it's Dr. cloth eared weasel cunt faggot to you.

If you’re into old skool Americana, Jackson Browne and shit like that, then you might dig Jonathan Wilson (not that one).

3rd album’s out next year, so he’s doing 4 dates in this country, including at the Brudenell. Bloke’s a geezer.

I don't mind a bit of Phil, B. The last track is always the best bit, usually as the needle lifts off the album.

I can't believe you like his shite :puker:
