Guy who runs one of my favourite neighbourhood curry places just swung by with a couple of cold beers and a card. Business struggling, I've not been in or had a delivery for many weeks, and still the gesture with a smile and a delayed catch up on the doorstep. (This is beyond just marketing, I've been to family parties, they're just nice folks.)

Xmas starting to beat work, covid and Brexit in what passes for my consciousness.

The Old Peculier I ordered a few weeks ago arrived exactly on time on the 22nd. Since I placed the order, the Christmas gathering rules have changed, leaving me to drink all 36 pints and its in perfect condition. The sacrifices one has to make to keep the local economy intact. Happy Christmas all.

For reasons lost to time I'm a dinosaur in that I like to have a paper diary along with online ones. Wife buys me one every year, knows the make and format etc.

2021 edition has been personalised with a Bielsa quote on the cover , and better still one relevant to the year

Sounds good, though. With the kids gone/going there’s a lot to be said for a few quid less and more enjoyment in your work. I look forward to that day.

My birthday is in a couple of weeks time so I have decided to treat myself and ordered the Manscaped that I keep hearing about on one of the podcasts (Phil Hay?).

Eric I did it 10 years ago, the prevoius job entailed me flying to Liverpool or London at the drop of a hat at least once a week, never looked back. Good luck!
