Just flicking through the channels and started watching St Johnstone vs Brechin for a bit ( yes it is as bad as it sounds)

Alan Maybury is playing for St Johnstone and in the stands not able to play for them tonight for reasons I don't know or care about are Jody Morris and one Michael Duberry! How the not so mighty have fallen.

Alan Maybury's ended up having a perfectly respectable career, hasn't he? Perhaps would have rather seen him take over from Kelly rather than Richardson in the end, but he was never going to hang around that long.

Meanwhile, Tony Capaldi:

MORECAMBE FC is investigating Twitter comments made by the club’s ex-Northern Ireland international Tony Capaldi.

Capaldi, 29, has riled Shrimps fans by describing the team as “rubbish” and slating training methods at the Globe while commenting on the popular social networking website.

...

His recent tweets included “now putting on a bit of weight now im a pub player!!” and “4 hours in the car for 20 mins crossing and finishing! #wasteoftime!”

In response to the following comment “2 Morecombe goals from your throw ins last weekend. That’s more than Cardiff have scored from corners this season! :(“ Capaldi replied: “trust me you would rather be watching cardiff than that rubbish!”.

The comments have caused an outpouring of anger on the club’s internet forum Shrimpsvoices with many fans calling for Capaldi to be sacked.

Speaking of disgruntled leftbacks, we might as well include poor old Fede Bessone as he runs down his brief stay at Leeds on the Charlton bench. In a recent interview with Kent Online, he seemed forlorn but vaguely hopeful and managed to include his usual nod to Lionel Messi, surely the sign of a man who knows his time is nearly up.

It’s been frustrating sitting on the sidelines for the recent matches after my hamstring injury but I’ve been back running for a week or so and have started doing bits of training, so I’m nearing full fitness.

As soon as I am fit, I will be ready but I want to be available until the end of the season. It’s no good if I rush back, only last 20 minutes and am then ruled out for another four weeks.

Unfortunately, loan players can pick up muscle strains when they go to another club simply because they’ve usually not been playing for a while beforehand. I’d gone nearly four months without playing. I’d played reserve-team games but the intensity is not the same.

In the two games I have played, the team won, though, so maybe I’m a bit of a lucky omen. I still have a lot to show – I haven’t done much yet. I feel like I owe the club. I want to play and show everyone what I can do and get the club back into those play-offs places, which are still not out of reach even though we lost in midweek.

Maybe Fede, just maybe.

Another TSB favourite "Big" Enoch Showumni is requesting our assistance with his dissertation. You can complete an online survey here if you want to help the big man.

I've filled it in. But those last few questions, where you say whether you have 'High, Medium or Low' agreement with a series of statements, are a bit flawed. There are so many statements in each question, that while I was in 'High' agreement with some I was in 'Low' agreement with others in the same question, so I ended up just putting 'Medium.' Which ultimately will tell Showman Da Poemcee nothing useful about my habits as a football fan.

I just filled that in and found the same problem.

I like watching Leeds United
I like to see Leeds United Win
I touch kids on a weekend

Strongly Agree, Agree, Disagree, Strongly Disagree.

Could it be that he was just trying to find out the income and the rest is just padding for that single piece of information? Maybe he was trying to entice a deliberate, specific response so he could suggest that unemployed or low income fans were more diligent in their supporting of a football team? Or something else which would explain this presumably deliberately ambiguous survey.

I don't know enough about it but our lass is doing a Masters in Sociology and Criminology so I've sent it off to her for a second opinion.

Jesus Tommy, can't a black man write a survey without criminologists getting involved?

yup. what a load of bobbins. some of the statements in each question appear to be in some instances unrelated & in one or two reflecting something not too far from diametrically opposite viewpoints .

i wondered whether each statement isn't supposed to have a tickbox?

more generally this looks like incredibly ropey stuff. when i did my MSc back in the day the material i was studying was all really quite advanced...

She's right though. That is utter fuckin gash and would have been chucked straight in the bin by his supervisor back in the day.
When I were a lad you had to know stuff and pass proper hard exams and shit to get a degree.
It pisses me off to think that his degree is gonna be worth the same as mine. I had to do a 25k word thesis on the relations between local and central government, and the local state as a means of socialising the costs of the reproduction of labour, and I had to write it in me own blood with a rusty springhead paling nail in t' pitch dark while me supervisor flayed me wi a wet bull's pizzle for every mistake in punctuation.
Niggaz terday don't know wot academic rigger is innit ..... :elephant:

I showed this survey to the lass and she was as angry as I've ever seen her. She seemed legitimately upset that I had even brought it to her attention.

The angriest I've seen our lass was the morning after the night I'd been a little bit of a bender in Cardiff. Being asked to look at online surveys, Being shown video evidence of your husband pissing through the letterbox of Costa coffee - I guess it's all relative. There's just no pleasing some women. :pig:

I'd like to throw in being brought home by a local bobby after someone had complained about me hitting the door of Oxfam for 15 minutes at 2am demanding my Now 29 cassette I had donated be returned. The bobby found the funny side, sadly the same could not be said of the waiting party at home :(

Try: arrested sans trew in an old lady neighbour's porch after she couldn't wake you with her broom through the letterbox, trews folded on her hedge with a big green bag in'em, sudden realisation of why the key didn't work, and where the fuck you are. :pale: (not me  )
