We’d have been promoted before lockdown if we’d had a Roofe as striker last year

i bet he'll score a bucketload if he can stay fit.

rod wallace [nb i always hated it when you used to get the odd comparison between him & roofe, they were drastically different players] is a classic example, scored [roughly] 1 in 4 at leeds, 1 in 6 at bolton, but inbetween these two spells was scoring at roughly 1 in 2 for rangers.

rangers might not be the force they were back in the day, but the rest of scottish football has declined even more precipitously, e.g. stevie g's nobodies averaged over 2.3 PPG last year, not at all dissimilar [assuming 3 pts per win] to the record of [e.g.] the excellent side who knocked leeds out of the BAROMETER in 92/93.

Seems a good fit for everyone that as long as he stays fit.

Roofe will score goals at that level and will be more disciplined than Morelos.

Once the fans are back he will get proper backing from them as well.

Those lovely fans at Rangers have already decided Roofe’s shite, it seems, based on a couple of non-scoring sub appearances.

I'm not sure Roofe was subject to much abuse - the entire team and in particular Gerrard seemed to be blamed for a poor performance against a packed defence on a poor pitch. A few posts from Ranger forum The Bears' Den (at least they are good with their punctuation) "They are all shit. Jones, Barker, Stewart, Kent, Hagi. All shite"; "Morelos was absolute dog shit again today"; "When you see barker coming on you reach for the noose, is Gerrard sleeping with him?"; "He's no handling the pressure of managing us, that's for fucking sure!"
Makes our rare criticism of Patrick seem almost playful.

To be fair, Roofe isn't very good.

That's why he's playing in Scotland

I was surprised Bert didn't want to keep Ekuban, he put in a shift.

I thought he was very unlucky with injuries, had the makings of a decent centre forward / winger from what little we seen of him.
