It was but in a way I preferred the first. Gambling on the keeper spilling it as well good strikers should (but Pat never does) and putting it away with an instinctive finish. Very much looks the real deal.

And cue all the tweets/fbposts saying he should have played more for us & that Bielsa doesn't know what he's doing.

How many of either sides first team are playing? I know bugger all about either of their squads, but the pace, play and atmosphere is more reminiscent of a u23 game than a first team game. Or os this how shit Arsenal and Bournemouth always are?

well, for sure we almost certainly shouldn't have pushed the boat out [financially] to sign someone who could only play as a central striker.

bielsa often played roofe & bamford together, but then roofe had experience playing out wide & at #10.

i suppose i'm slightly worried that the new guy is also a specialist 'number 9'.

Apparently Bielsa only played Roofe and Bamford together 5 times https://www.footballfancast.com/champio ... more-often

yeah? I suppose one or t'other was often injured. I'd have been more accurate just saying that roofe over his time here showed he could play wide or as a ten

Seem to recall that he's been played out wide as well, though I have no idea how effective he was. We're not exactly short on wide players though.

i think that's what galled me about roofe going. the last time i saw him for leeds he was playing as a 10 with bamford in the york pre-season and he just seemed to have got the idea of it. i know it was only against york, but his movement and touch that day made him look about the best player on the park for us, as a pair him and bamford looked really promising. and then we sold him.

Eddie looked ok, but bottom line in the right place right time, hit the target and effectively pu the game to bed in the first half, putting Arse in very strong position

Encouraging that in the first half the Arse absolutely gave Bournemouth, away from home a arse whipping in first 30 mins, spanked them for 2 goals and should have walked the game.... the Arse line up was not as strong as the one we faced at Emirates & we did not get rolled over like B'Mouth if anything the first half of our FA cup tie was some of our best play of the season
