I don't buy this 'Robbo is crap' stuff, he had a bad final season with Spurs but, by and large, he's been consistant his whole career and is capable of being world class on his day. I firmly believe he should be back in the England squad now, along with Hart and Kirkland.

Not crap, just average. And he had a poor final season with us too. The consistency thing is almost the problem: he doesn't appear to have improved at all over the years.

Robbo is following the typical path for a keeper, he had a bright start when he was young and agile, but certainly had a lot to learn about positioning. He's had the traditional dip and now at 30 should be about approaching his best, his career will ultimately be defined by what he does in the next 4 to 6 years. But I for one recon Carson is a much much worse keeper to be able to claim an England competetive cap.

So, appaently an updated "best 100 LUFC players ever" list is being made, because it's ten years since the last one: http://www.leedsunited.com/news/2012050 ... 85_2764594

What's the point? How many players have we had 2002-2012 who could displace someone in the existing list?

I tried to look it up but the one on Wikipedia has Beckford at #100, which obviously isn't right, so I tried to find the page on the official site via the wayback machine. Oddly, if you go to the version from 2005 -- http://web.archive.org/web/200503111248 ... nd+History -- Willis Edwards is #100, but by 2006 -- it's Tomas Brolin http://web.archive.org/web/200605160240 ... nd+History.

So, if the club has been updating the list all the while anyway, why all this fuss about it being ten years?!

agreed, complete waste of time. i can't begin to imagine who would make it onto the list based on their post 2002 form. i guess maybe beckford, snodgrass, milner[?].

there wasn't that long to wait until the LUFC centenary, which would probably have been a better time to put together lists like this one.

These lists are always so distorted by the present it's ridiculous. If they do it again we will probably end up with Snoddy and Beckford in the top 20, which for as much as I love them both, they clearly aren't. I remember channel 4 doing something like "best songs ever" and Robbie Fucking Williams either won it or was stupidly highly placed.

I've been giving this some thought and have decided to bring Pablo into the team (for the avoidance of doubt the Cooper referred to here is evidently Terry). I'll drop Barnes because it's the sensible thing to do.
The only thing we knew for sure about Henry Porter was that his name wasn't Henry Porter.
