Great fightback by England especially Sidebottom with a hat trick leaving the kiwis on 147/8 a lead of 269,the most likely result is still a draw but at least the fourth day was more entertaining.

Remarkable. I sloped off to bed in disgust and woke up to learn about THAT. Fucking weird game, eh?

Delighted for Sidebottom. He's been our best bowler since last summer. Nice to see a Yorkshireman doing well.

Well fuck me sideways if the batsmen didn't go and fuck it up,the only one who showed any BOTTLE at all was Ian Bell :D .It's time the ECB stopped these fucking mini tours so that the team is prepared and ready to go for the test series,if the cunting players dont want to tour properly then fuck em off and put some players in who are commited to the cause,we'll lose tests but we are doing that now and it's pathetic. Why was Strauss brought back in he's been a walking wicket for 3 years and that big soft geordie twat Harmison gets on my fucking tits,if the cunt wants to play with his kids and sit in the pub with his mates in the arse end of nowhere then let him,Broad & shah in.

Disgraceful performance from our batsmen, only Bell showed any bottle... must be changes for 2nd test, harmy out and broad in at a minimum.

Rather than take part in sport too many kids in the UK are to happy to play Xbox etc or mug grannies. Sporting performances like this are the result. Not enough kids play sport.

Of course there should be team changes - and an attitude change too - as well as some proper warm up matches. New Zealand have insisted upon no less than three full scale four day matches before any international cricket at the start of their next tour of England. Our ruddy players should stop being so damn soft. If they don't want to go on two month, very well paid tours in mostly lovely locations then sod off to the pointless Indian 20/20 leagues.

That said the Kiwis did play well and thoroughly deserved their victory. Decent crowds there too.

Bell showed no bottle whatever.

Playing well in a losing effort is the pussy's way out. Playing well enough to earn victory on your own - a la Pietersen or Flintoff - is the big man's solution.

Bell is no big man.

Hoggard and Harmison dropped for the second test anderson and broad in,a bit harsh on hoggy but he's clearly not fit.

Harsh indeed on Hoggy.

I'm very worried about this Test. Anyone who has read Mike Selvey in the Guardian will know that Broad, apparently, is "deceptively slow".

And Anderson is just a waste of space. Picking him ahead of Hoggard is frankly insulting.

BUT: Sidebottom to be England's top wicket taker in this test at 6/4 is like being handed the keys to Fort Knox. Get stuck in there!

Top night's cricket that. Ambrose is the best thing to happen to English cricket since Pietersen. He chanced his arm a bit, but can you really say he ever looked like getting out other than in that final over?? Got cracked on the helmet but came back superbly and hit a 4 next ball ! It's a great to see an English batsman playing with some fucking aggression and joie de vivre !

Strauss looked okay until he played that woeful shot. Looked better than Cook, I thought.

As for Bell - get the bottling cunt out !

We certainly saved ourselves some embarrasment at the very least. Still plenty of time for us to collapse yet

NZ all out for 198 and with better catching and a little more luck England would've had them for around 120,Eng 4/0 at the close. The most entertaining part of the day though was the kiwi fan who fell over with his pint  fucking lightweight.

Went down to the basin today, good day in the sun! we are well placed now to win this test. Just need anderson or sidebottom to bowl well in the kiwis 2nd innings. Barmy Army in good voice at the end. One blue yellow LUFC flag by the camera scaffolding tower.

With England's inept performances since 2005 am I not the only one who thinks that if we're a bowler light, that 400+ is perhaps not defendable. And if Broad is prevented from bowling due to the issue with his follow through then anything would be possible.

As for the full house - how refreshing to see such large attendances at New Zealand grounds throughout the series. Sunday too is sold out. If only the ICC had a better organised international programme then these large crowds could become the norm

NZ 242/6 at the close needing a world record 438 to win,England bowled quite well in the windy conditions and with a bit more luck could have had a couple more wickets, and it also helps if you can catch the fucking ball. :x
