This proposed new Hundred competition really is degenerating into a complete farce. Aside from the ECB it is hard to find anyone enthused by its inception. Who exactly is this mythical new huge untapped audience that the ECB presumes it's going to attract. And by 2020 it's quite possible that T10 will have replaced T20 anyway.http://www.espncricinfo.com/story/_/id/ ... ns-hundred
What business would actually seek to disenfranchise nearly half it's hardcore fanbase. English county cricket already has a good sized domestic following in the short form of the game, unlike many other cricket playing countries. Long established local rivalries will go out the window. The current T20 tournament continues to grow quickly in spectator numbers so why not just advertise/market it even further, at a fraction of the cost, and job done.
