Joffy going out on loan to a Championship side in Wales, not sure if it's Cardiff or Swansea yet.

Given that we're actively looking to make some space in the squad, it does seem like we've somehow found a pot to piss in after all? Unless we're selling Harrison?

Leipzig: You lost in court. Pay us.
Leeds: OK.

Amicable resolution.

Bild release details of agreement Leeds have struck over JK Augustin payment.
Leipzig have agreed to waive the €340,000 interest claim on the signing and have been ‘accommodating with the payment', with the suggestion being the €21m fee can be settled in favourable instalments.

Worst deal in our history by some distance then, with Firpo a close second, and Dan James up there as well, depending on hos much we recoupe when we sell him. 18M for JKA, 13M Firpo, and a 10M too much for James. 40M quid buys a lot of wet wipes..

Agree about the worst deal but I think honourable mentions for the second place must include Peter Barnes and Tomas Brolin, especially as football transfer inflation has massively exceeded normal RPI since the purchase of the latter two players.

It all depends on how one defines "worst". Is it worst buy for the buck? Least impactful regardless of price? Most annoying? Past their prime duds? It can be all or just one. JKA hits at least two on that list and is without doubt the all-timer in the first category.

I guess its in the eye of the beholder. For example, there was the cavalcade of shit Warnock brought in. Obviously not as high-priced, but far harder on the eyes. Michael Brown makes Dan James look like the second coming in comparison.

The Sick Note Six bother me quite a bit more than, say, Junior Firpo ever will. Firpo's sins are being injury-prone and nowhere near as good as Orta thought he'd be. He sucks, but he's mainly a by-product of Leeds uneven recruitment.

The Sick Note Six were useless Cellino-inspired slop that had virtually no legacy to begin with and then shit all over what little they did have by trying to torpedo what remained of whatever forgettable season that was.

According to the stats on Wikipedia I calculate JKA cost us a shade under £370k per minute played. :puker:

And worse, he turned down a late move from scum to chose us. We out fucked up scum, that’s some achievement given their recent track record.

Edit to add - see also Dan James.. the LSB

I think a part of worst would have to be overpaying for someone demonstrably not that good. Have we all forgotten Seth bastard 'England' Johnson here? The JKA deal turned out to be a shocker, but the mitigation is that prior to the event it didn't look wholly unreasonable.

The only mitigating factors I can think of are Bielsa, Rafa and Adams. Fans can be forgiven for thinking JKA might be the real deal, Orta less so. He had evidence from Leipzig and Monaco that JKA was crocked, and we still gave Leipzig a profit on what they paid PSG.

I think the last few posts demonstrate how being on a forum sometimes provokes one to take a view for the sake of taking a view. JKA is clearly the worst signing that we, and perhaps any other club in the country, has ever made. By a country mile. There really is little debate to be had on that

where exactly he sits on the list of all time leeds or even FAPL bad signings feels more like something for a PhD thesis than a TSB post, i think we can agree to settle on the deal being utterly, utterly terrible, by any measure, both abysmal in value for money terms and also big enough to be noticeable in terms of the bottom line.

Agee about our worst signing, Im not sure he even makes the top ten in EPL history. Andy Carroll to Cess, Pepe to Arsenal, 50% of transfers Chelsea have ever made come to mind (97m for Lukaku  ). I suspect JKA has a much bigger impact on our finances though. Most ESL clubs seem to have a few 15-25m quid players on their books that they don't know what to do with..

Do we actually know whether the JKA costs are just his transfer fee or include his wages for whatever the duration of the contract was?

It's a well known fact that Marcelo was keen to bring James and JKA to the club.

Luckily we've made some really astute signings since Marshy arrived (coincinence? nah).
