Norwich City v Leeds United: Holt will face Whites

Leeds United will face a full-strength attack at Carrow Road on Saturday after the Football Association overturned a three-match ban imposed on Norwich City's Grant Holt.
The Canaries' leading scorer has been cleared to play in this weekend's Championship fixture following a successful appeal against the red card shown to him at Reading.

Holt was dismissed by referee Michael Oliver – the official who courted controversy in Leeds last month by failing to punish Cardiff City's Jay Bothroyd for a shin-high tackle on Luciano Becchio – midway through Saturday's 3-3 draw between Reading and Norwich, but the FA upheld Norwich's challenge at a regulatory hearing yesterday.

The ban threatened to deprive Norwich manager Paul Lambert of a striker who scored 30 goals last season as City won the League One title by a nine-point margin over Leeds, but the Norfolk club have successfully contested a sending-off which Lambert said was "ludicrous, an absolutely shocking decision."

Holt has scored six goals this term and his absence would have significantly weakened a side who sit one point and three places below Leeds.

But United's squad is also growing in strength following the comeback of winger Sanchez Watt and defender Richard Naylor in last night's reserve-team clash with Hull City. Keeper Shane Higgs and left-back Ben Parker were also involved in yesterday's fixture at Elland Road.

The steady stream of returning players leaves Patrick Kisnorbo as the only serious injury concern at Elland Road, though George McCartney and Amdy Faye are slight doubts for Saturday's meeting with Norwich due to ankle and hamstring strains respectively.
