Re: The creekit
Interesting argument as to whether the two are pronounced the same.
For me the /th/ in "loath" is unvoiced and rhymes with "both".
"Loathe" is voiced.
Mirrors and copulation are abominable, since they both multiply the numbers of men.

Re: The creekit
Yeah I always say 'loath' to rhyme with 'both' and 'loathe' to (sort of) rhyme with 'stove', albeit with a 'th' sound instead of a 've'.
Pakistan versus India final anyone? Can't possibly be as good as the match earlier in the tournament but seems the most likely outcome given all the injury rumours surrounding England. Stokes and Livingstone don't really look fit enough to be playing and apparently Malan and Wood are doubts too.

The city of Leicester would presumably not be too keen on that particular final coming to pass

Re: The creekit
The cliche about players peaking at the right time was completely true today, Buttler and Hales were both imperious. We never even got to see if Salt or Stokes was coming in next.
Thought Jordan was the wrong call but it worked. Dilly absolutely fantastic again, he might be the low-key player of the tournament.
No idea what will happen in the Final. Arguably the two best opening partnerships going head to head.

Re: The creekit
Best bowling unit vs strongest batting line up (on paper, at least, if not demonstrably form)?
Toss and conditions will decide this I fear
I like it. What is it?

I don't wish to appear biased, however it's obvious to me that Harry Brook and Yorkshire won the T20 for England. Were it not for Brook cleverly picking out the star Pakistan bowler whilst sacrificing his wicket, Afridi would not have been injured taking the catch and would have been able to bowl his remaining two overs, rather than having Iftikhar having 13 runs taken from his 5 balls. Clear win for Yorkshire then.

And an added bonus of winning the WC in Oz is that it will have greatly irritated the Cons

Re: The creekit
It appears that Test cricket is now a sequence of consecutive T20 performances.
Both openers going off at 6+ an over. These are the fucking End Times.

Had forgotten it had started until the news came on. Feels like I've missed half the match now!

I'm not sure I fancy the England bowling line up to do much better on that pitch.
