Why is the BBC headlining with, 'Bears need 8 wickets to relegate Yorkshire', when the other lot only need about 100 to win, with 8 wickets left?
5 and 61, one session left… :pale:

Not over yet RSS.

Hants need 120-odd with 8 batters left. And that after your lot collapsed… something in the wicket, suddenly?
It is doing enough, Batsmen cant seem to stick around and a bit of extra bounce and nip but then it looks fine for 5 overs and you wonder what the issue is!

Hants should see this through now though.

All over boys

In fairness it would have been a travesty had we relegated another club by winning today.

We have been unable to take 20 wickets all season and our top order has hardly put a partnership together.

Told ya

Table doesn’t lie. Couldn’t buy a win from several positions through the season, got what we deserved.

Played, your lot (particularly that Norwell lad).

T’wats, our lot.

Both teams very similar then, we have had some games where it looked certain that we would win only to limply bail out and get beaten.

Norwell is very dangerous bowler but has hardly been fit all season.

Would much prefer it was Kent or Somerset but unfortunately it was not to be.

Having attended at least 1 day of 5 county championship games and two Royal London Cup games this season, I'm not at all bothered about being relegated. It's easy to point to the virtual season-long injuries to Coad and Fisher, or the long list of Yorkshire players not available due to England selection or being told to rest by the ECB but so much of this season has been a shambles both on and off the pitch. I really can't be bothered to list all the aspects that require attention but I'm pretty sure retention of Division One status would have allowed many of the problems to remain unaddressed.

Ireland. The Leeds Utd of the T20WC, beating England, then getting abused by Australia. 25-5 in the 5th over…

That makes more sense if you assume the goal is just to knock England out.

Malan is out, which means Salt almost certainly comes in. Curious to see where he plays, have to wonder if Buttler might drop himself down the order and let Salt open with Hales.

England shouldn't really be able to win this given all the injured and out of form/slightly past their best players but you can't rule it out because Cricket. The Netherlands giving the Saffers a shoeing emphasises how virtually anyone can beat anyone in this tournament.

Could end up being an England Vs New Zealand final, or a India Vs Pakistan one. Either way those are good matchups. Not fussed who wins really, just didn't want Australia to win it again.

Not sure. will depend on the wicket, I think, with options being Salt (who's not a #3, so moves Buttler or Hales out of position), or Jordan, with Harry (or Stokes? Perhaps even Ali?) moving up to 3?

Yup, India slight favourite’s to win the semi but as has been said, with the Saffers massive choke v the Dutch, anything is possible in the short form of the game.

For me, England will be loathe to rip up their batting order to fit in Salt, so I feel he’ll bat at 3. Not a big difference as he’s opened all his career for Sussex and Lancs. And I don’t think his inclusion weakens our batting.

And if Moeen can catch, we have a chance….
